It’s been a week since I wrote a personal blog post. I have not been in the mood for writing which explains the long absence.

A lot has been going on here of late. It is a month till the start of lacrosse season. That in itself makes for a busy time of year.  We are still working on the final planning  stages for this years season.

Speak of Lacrosse the Toronto Rock won a big game at home 16-10 over the Rochester NightHawks. I did not go as a gave the tickets to my son to take a friend to the game with him.

In other sports news, my Montreal Canadiens lost  5-2 in Montreal to Toronto. This is a biug lost because it leaves them stuck in 8th place in the concerence which is not a good thing. They seem to have issues everywhere lately including coaching, goal tending and offense. Not a good thing for a team struggling to make the playoffs.

I am currently reworking my blog. I have been working on my technology site and soon this one. I have found neat ways with WordPress to add pages and do other things to the blogs.

I am still finding time for social networking. As always I can be found on Facebook, Twitter, MSN and my blogs. Coming soon is Myspace.

Its funny we all use this thing called the Internet/Information Highway/The World Wide Web. What the Net and technology has done is caused the way we view relationships. In the old days you called someone on the phone or visited them. Now technology has added so many other ways of contact. Chat programs/social networking sites/ Internet telephony/ email and text messaging are just a few.

It can be good and bad. The medium is not really the issue. The issue is how people use the mediums available to  them.

Personally I use some of this technology. Their is no question I live in email. I use email for work/home and even to help run a lacrosse league I am involved in.  Email is the net’s killer application. For me email is a time saver and I can send at anytime and in my case anyplace(I carry a BlackBerry).

One of my best friends now lives in Europe. We use Skype to chat and keep up to date.  The amount it saves  on long distance phone calls is incredible.

I use social networking sites to keep going with friends. Twitter and Facebook are the two big ones.

I personally have a couple of blogs that I write to keep people up to date.

In all of this I use discretion.  Why would I post something on Facebook that I normally would not tell the world at large. Think about it. The problem is most people don’t and they wonder why their is information about them all over the Internet.

Their is nothing wrong with technology – it is all how you use it.
