Well this past week the unthinkable happened. CTV/TSN bought the rights to the Hockey Night in Canada Song right under the CBC exec noses. At least it will stay in Canada. CBC now it’s time to wake up!!!!!!!!

Hockey night in Canada has two big problems right now. One is the Hockey Night in Canada Theme song and the other is Bob Cole. As a long time hockey fan – enough is enough.

Bob Cole is an easy subject to talk about – He is a hall of famer but he is way past his prime. He can not even call a game. He is often behind  the play and does not even get the player names right. He has to go – like yesterday.  Listening to him call a game is just pitiful anymore.  CBC has way more talented announcers then Cole. It is time to move on.

The second issue is the Hockey Night In Canada Theme song. CBC has said they will not renew the rights for it after 40 years. CBC says they also care for tradition. Well the brass at CBC needs to get real. The theme song is as much Canadien tradition as Hockey Night in Canada itself. They should listen to the outcry that is going on. The song is as traditional as anything goes.
